Important PMP Exam Security Update from the Project Management Institute
As a PMI Approved Training Partner in UAE, 3FOLD Training is pleased to share an important update regarding the PMP® Exam Preparation. PMI has recently made some announcements in relation to security of the Project Management Professional (PMP)® examination. These updates emphasize on the fact that PMI is committed to maintaining the highest levels of integrity, validity and fairness in their certification programs.
What is New in the PMP Exam Security Update?
1. Enhanced Data Forensics & Security Policies: From 25th September 2023 (EST), PMI will undertake enhanced data forensics and introduce tight security policies for PMP® exams. Thus, these measures seek to strengthen credibility of PMP® certification as well as establish transparentness over testing process.
2. Change in Result Notification Process: The current system allows candidates to get preliminary results right after examination but now their responses will be directed at PMI. It is within five days after that time when candidates learn their results via email from PMI.
3. Modifications to Handling Misconduct: If in case misconduct is detected through enhanced data forensics on any exam with new security update it shall be marked as a security failure. A notification will be sent through an e-mail indicating that one’s score has been cancelled for such candidates. Candidates who previously faced invalidated exams were able to retake them free of charge. However, according to the new directives, it is necessary for candidates to re-sit before they can take up another test and will have pay for this themselves.
Key Takeaways from the Enhanced Exam Security:
• Implementation Date: The revised exam security measures will be effective on 25 September 2023 (EST).
• Communication to Candidates: These updates will be integrated by PMI into various customer facing materials including Certification Handbook, PMP web pages and FAQs online.
• Confidentiality: Any information related to scoring is confidential. Third parties shall not access the list of affected candidates or exam data from PMI.
• Impact on Eligibility: An exam security failure will be counted as one of the three PMP® exam attempts permitted within a single eligibility period. Candidates who get a score cancellation must take any subsequent exams in person at an official test center.
• Reason for No Online Retakes: In order to have the integrity of PMP® maintained, candidates with security failures will not sit for the exam again online. This way, there will be strict adherence to security protocols and no chance for misconduct like proxy testing service.
• Membership & Affiliation: While PMI does not currently have plans to revoke membership for those in exam security failure, it reserves the right to take action against any breach of ethics and professional conduct agreements. There may also be reconsideration of the relationship between training entities and PMI based on security breaches.
