How to Prepare Your CV for the CMQ/OE Exam Application

It is vital that when applying for Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), you provide a comprehensive resume that meets ASQ requirements. This CV will be uploaded when you register for the exam, and the same information should be filled in the ASQ exam application system. Do not think that creating a CV is difficult. With your current prepared CV, just revise it according to the requirements of ASQ.

Eligibility Requirements

Relevant work experience must be demonstrated by applicants who want to qualify for CMQ/OE exams. The eligibility prerequisites are:

• • Diploma Holders: 9 years of experience
  • Associate Degree Holders: 8 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Holders: 6 years of experience
  • Master’s/Doctorate Holders: 5 years of experience

 

Key Requirement: Out of your total experience, 5 years must be in a decision-making position You must have worked in a full-time paid position.

Summarize Only What Is Necessary

1. Education Details:

• • • Highest Level Attained– Give details regarding your highest qualification including what degree it was.
    • Year Graduated – Provide when you completed this degree. Year Started – Year Ended Format 
    • University or College – Write the name and location of the school attended including the university.

 

2. Employment Record:

• • • Company Profile– Indicate the address, telephone numbers, and p.o box.
    • Indicate Your Role– This refers to your designation. 
    • Date Of Employment– Write in a Month/ Year started-Month/Year ended
    • Name Of Immediate Supervisor And His Position- mention the name of your boss or supervisor 
    • Roles and Responsibilities and Detail Your Decision-Making Roles: For each position, describe your key responsibilities and your decisions roles made for the organization.

 

What Does Decision-Making Position Mean?

Decision-making positions are job titles that give you the power to choose what strategic routes to follow on quality management or operational efficiency within an organization. Such roles entail developing strategies of high quality; heading teams; managing projects and ensuring conformity with set standards among others.

Here are some sample decision-making posts across industries that can assist in understanding what to indicate on your CV:

Quality Manager in Manufacturing:
